You win one title in 113 weeks on the world circuit then bag two trophies in the space of just seven days.
Take a bow, Chen Yufei, who added the Swiss Open crown to her YONEX All England title in the dress rehearsal for the World Championships from Basel.
Yufei, now ranked two in the world after her success in Birmingham, was one of three freshly crowned YONEX All England champions on show in Switzerland but she was the only one to make it back to back finals days.
Top seeded in Basel, she beat Japan’s Saena Kawakami 21-9 21-16 in just 36 minutes. There was no dramatic fall to the floor on championship point like witnessed at the Arena Birmingham but the win is another landmark for the 21 year old.
Chen Yufei had earlier defeated Sung Ji Hyun – PV Sindhu’s first round nemisys in Birmingham – at the semi final stage to reach the 10th international circuit final of her career.
Of the other contending champions, Hendra Setiawan and Mohammad Ahsan reached the men’s doubles quarter finals before missing out to the emerging talents of Lee Yang and Wang Chi-Lin.
The eighth seeded Chinese Taipei would eventually end as runners up to YONEX All England semi finalists Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto, who have now won three of four finals on the HSBC BWF World Tour.
Women’s Doubles champions – and 2017 Swiss Open champs - Chen Qinqchen and Jia Yifan were defeated in an all-Chinese quarter final by sixth seeds Li Wenmei and Zheng Yu.
2018 YONEX All England champion Shi Yuqi won the men’s singles title with a three end comeback victory against India’s Sai Praneeth.
