Our volunteer family is the beating heart of the Championships. From getting our athletes onto court to welcoming our 40,000 spectators, every role is essential to creating a world class tournament.

Roles Available for the 2025 YONEX All England

Access Control Team

Access Control play an integral role in ensuring the smooth running of the sporting competition by checking and verifying accreditation, helping to manage access into restricted areas, sharing information and directing volunteers, athletes and officials to appropriate areas based on their accreditation permissions. Without becoming directly involved, they escalate any issues or breaches to the designated event contact.

Accreditation 

Accreditation is the security pass creation and distribution service for the entire Championships. Our volunteers play a crucial role to ensure non-ticketed stakeholders (including workforce, athletes and media) receive their accreditation pass by validating information and printing passes. You will have an exciting role in leading these operations, supporting team members and facilitating positive lasting engagements for all stakeholders.

Athletes Services

The Athlete Services Team present a friendly face, warm welcome and world class services for our visiting athletes and team officials whilst at the competition venue. They ensure that all spaces and equipment are compliant, clean and safe, and that the needs of the athletes are met at all times. They also provide an essential link between the practice facility and the competition and media requirements with regards to player readiness and whereabouts.

Concierge

The Concierge Team are the warm welcome to our distinguished guests at the VIP entrance. Serving as the primary point of contact and information, they assist guests resolving issues and ensuring an enjoyable experience. As the central liaison between Hospitality areas, they will communicate arrivals and numbers on site, along with guest needs to make sure they are seamlessly delivered across all touchpoints.

Event Control

The Event Control Team deliver our Event Control Room; this is the nerve centre of the whole event.  They are responsible for monitoring the radio airwaves and logging of conversations, actions and incidents, and creating links between individuals and groups. They contribute to the smooth running of operational and stakeholder management by following these dedicated conversation channels and feeding back information to improve safety and best practices.

Field Of Play Entry

Field of Play Entry is a combination of the final warm up area and the walk out tunnel onto the field of play. This team plays a key role communicating between the athletes, technical officials and broadcast to ensure the coordination of all personnel, playing a crucial role in keeping the event to time.

Spectator Services

The Spectator Services Team welcome, host and inform our spectators about the event and Badminton England. They facilitate a range of fan activations, creating amazing customer experience off court, and connecting people with the sport of badminton.

Logistics

The Logistics Team are integral to the smooth functioning of the event. They are the go-to team to support with the transportation of equipment and items, management of time-critical requests, and collection of deliveries across all our spaces.

Match Control

Match Control is the technical hub of the field of play, managing Tournament Software, liaising with technical officials and sport presentations.  They will input and disseminate key data on the competition.

Media Centre

The Media Team are the first contact for athletes coming off court, providing crucial support to the attending accredited media, TV production crews and event photographers by ensuring efficient operation of the Media Centre and Mixed Zone. They assist with requests for interviews and information, and some content generation may also be requested. It’s an exciting, fast paced environment in touch with a variety of stakeholders.

Sport Equipment

Sport Equipment is an active team, leading on the build, derig, and maintenance of the field of play. They contribute to the quality of the athletes’ experience through the management of equipment and consumables used during the competitions and maintenance of equipment. Leading the athletes around the field of play; from their first steps out of the tunnel, onto court, and off to the Media Centre post-match.

Shuttle Control

Shuttle Control Team Members manage an essential part of the sport of badminton: the shuttles. Managing the stock control and reporting into the event, they are right in the heart of the action, on the Field of Play. They collect used shuttles and replace them with new shuttles before and after each match.

Sport Equipment

Sport Equipment is an active team, leading on the build, derig, and maintenance of the field of play. They contribute to the quality of the athletes’ experience through the management of equipment and consumables used during the competitions and maintenance of equipment. Leading the athletes around the field of play; from their first steps out of the tunnel, onto court, and off to the Media Centre post-match.

Transport

The Transport Team are the warm welcome and safe transport of all our key client groups from over the city to our venue and official hotels. You will be provided with a hire vehicle whilst on shift to fulfil this role. You must have a full clean driving licence and be over the age of 25 to drive with us.

Workforce Services

The first port of call for any of the event workforce, the workforce services team are integral to the smooth running of the event. They distribute resources, offer support, share recommendations and identify problems relating to the workforce.
