You can now apply to volunteer at the world’s oldest and most prestigious badminton tournament, the YONEX All England Open.
The storied Championships return to the Utilita Arena Birmingham from 16 to 20 March 2022 and we’re searching for passionate volunteers to join the team.
With crowds set to be welcomed back to the tournament for the first time since 2020, volunteers will as always play a crucial role in the running of the event.
Their friendly faces capture the passion and excitement of the event, and their focus and dedication make it a welcoming and compelling event for all involved.
Volunteering gives the opportunity to gain new skills, meet likeminded people, give back to the community and feel part of a team – as well as having fun!
You can now apply for up to 15 volunteer roles, ranging from field of play to media centre, umpiring to mixed zone and venue operations.
There are roles open in accreditation, athlete services, media centre, results service, shuttle control, team liaison and transport.
Technical official roles are now open, including for qualified line judges and umpires.
Those are central to ensuring fair match play and following the Laws of Badminton.
There are roles to cater for different skill sets – if you’re good behind the wheel, then transport is right up your street.
If you’re observant and good with IT, you’d smash it in results service or shuttle control. And if you’re a bundle of energy, you’re ready-made for the field of play or venue operations teams.
